Who are we?
Eastern
Promise is a group of real women from in and around Ilfracombe who get
together to dance on a regular basis. We met at various evening classes
locally and eventualy formed our own troupe. We perform Egyptian
cabaret style, An American tribal fusion form of Belly dance and some
gypsy dance.

Where we dance.
We dance at local
events such as Fetes and festivals. During the summer months we dance
in local hotels. Two or Three times a year we hold a Hafla, which is
basically a party where we get together; eat, drink, dance together and
for each other.

Why we dance.
All this activity has
three main purposes, the first is to have fun, the second is to allow
us to indulge in our love of all things shiny and glittering, it is a
great excuse to dress up. And last but by no means least to collect
money for local charities. |
